|Duties:||The Sustainability Manager is responsible for providing visionary leadership, strategy and direction for advancing and integrating sustainability and energy conservation principles into the operational functions of Johnson Space Center. The Sustainability Manager will lead the effort to update and support the long-term sustainability vision, mission and operating principles for JSC and develop the high-level strategy for integrating sustainable operations and development into Centers core processes and decision-making. |
|Qualifications:||Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Experience with energy, water and waste conservation in buildings. Thorough understanding of energy and sustainability principles and best practices in a corporate setting.
Ability to work effectively individually or in teams as well as with diverse groups.
Ability to effectively communicate verbally and via email, memo and letter. Ability to make presentations and effectively speak in public. Ability to write articles on effective sustainable practices.
Ability to work effectively in a service oriented environment subject to changing priorities and project deadlines and time constraints.
Demonstrated analytical, problem solving skills, Attention to detail and accuracy in implementing organizational and management strategy and plans.
Proficiency with MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint and the ability to learn other software as required
Required Education and Experience:
Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or physical science.
Preferred Education: MBA or advanced Engineering or Physical Science Degree. LEED Accredited Professional. Certified Energy manager (CEM).
Required Experience: 7-10 years of progressive experience and leadership in the area of sustainability initiatives, including policy development and implementation, energy conservation, project development and implementation.
Preferred Experience: Experience within a large corporate setting.
